Interface with Christ: "AL-ONE"
Alone. All-One.

Acrylics on canvas. 3 canvas drops each 300x1200mm. 1x1.2m wall-space used

I love this image. I don"t know why. Perhaps something subliminal from the altar of the "innermost place". As with each of these seven triptychs, this image manifested spontaneously after meditative study of Matthew's gospel which cross referenced me to John's. This account reports Jesus describing the "Holy Spirit" as the 'spirit of reality" (16th chapter, Recovery translation). It's worth a read. www.bfnz.org.nz

I risked asking the supernatural for assistance from God's "Holy Spirit" to paint. I was on my face on the floor at the time; another feature of my art practise.

I was moved by a peculiar, fragile sense of humility and gratitude...I jumped up and wrote my thoughts on the three canvas drops, thereby further expanding my state of consciousness. By the time I came to paint, doubt and deliberation were transcended. With the reserve power of forty years painting experience (I have the technology...) I simply pick up my 5cm acrylics brush, load it with whatever pigment strikes my fancy, and paint. I watch the process with wonder. This is the most exciting body of work I have yet created and I just wish I had undergone this study early in life.....

My attempts to interpret this image evoke terms like "mytho-poetic" "ancient of ancients" "distillation" "quintessential" "alchemy" "purity" "fragility" and "perfume". The image evokes excitement in my innermost place. A tincture of ancient wisdom hidden in a lost place. A tincture of the Holy Spirit capable of transforming the human mind, starting with transforming me. An ancient gift from God present now. Our rescue remedy. Ever-present. Ever existing. Age-less.

If you can elucidate meaning from this image, I am keen to hear from you. natalie@tateart.co.nz
