He Nailed it

Acrylics on 3 canvas drops each 300mm x 1200mm. Nat Tate 2012

"My God. My God. Why have you forsaken me?" He died a man. Where were the miracles then?

Having undercoated more canvas drops, I held a loaded 4" house brush. This black triptych was hanging ready to paint with its graphite text all done. I suddenly thought, "What would happen if I just attacked the canvas with this?" Starting with a circular motion at the base, out popped a head and this stunning portrayal of the crucifixion.

I first titled it "Void". I think this is what the ego-free Jesus could have experienced, dying as an egoic man, cut off and separated from his Divine nature, as we are, when we have not realised who "Christ" is.

No wonder we use only a tiny part of our brain's capacity. Did Jesus have the capacity to use more? This might throw light on the scientifically slated "miracles", especially the "resurrection". He says all who believe into him will be resurrected, will live eternally in Him.

It is suggested that Jesus could not have nailed "the devil" (the ego?) in us, and "overcome the world" if he had not died as a man. And by his resurrection from death, he reopened (via our faith) the way back to God to our transformed, true nature, as 'sons of God", citizens of God's "Heavenly Kingdom". This is a mystery worth unravelling. It's all there in the New Testament Friend. The one I picked up was for free from www.bfnz.org.nz

Let's try something. Lord, as we read your Word, take up residence in our spirit, by Your Holy Spirit, and "transform us by the renewing of our mind".
